David Daroff, MDiv
Professional Counseling Intern, Argosy Univeristy
Office Ext. 51, Office Location: Ogden

David has needed to take an unanticipated leave of absence but hopes to return and to begin to see clients again in January, 2012.

I have always known the love of Jesus through my parents and the various churches we attended. My conversion experience was like the dawning of the sun. It was one of coming to know that God loved me more than I could imagine and that I am forgiven. This experiencing of the reality of His love and grace makes an incredible difference in life for me.

I felt the Lord calling me into fulltime Christian ministry in high school and made a public commitment to follow Him with my life. This commitment has guided my choices of study and pursuit of degrees. I attended Westmont College in Santa Barbara and received a BA in psychology. For my practicum I worked with troubled youth in the penal system. I began graduate work at Fuller Seminary and later transferred to American Baptist Seminary of the West (ABSW) in Berkeley where I received a Masters of Divinity. ABCW provided a course of study that included diverse perspectives within the Christian faith. I am currently pursuing an MA in Professional Counseling from Argosy University.

I have over 20 years of experience in pastoral ministry in a wide variety of roles. This has included counseling with my congregation and persons from the surrounding communities. I have spent many hours discipling, problem solving, and helping people seek out positive ways to live, work, and maintain relationships. I have led marriage retreats, youth retreats, family camps, and wilderness camps. I have developed and implemented a Stephen’s ministry.

I am currently on staff with Christian Counseling Centers of Utah as a Professional Counseling Intern under the supervision of Rob Pramann, PhD, Psychologist and Clinical Director. I occasionally provide pulpit supply and am available to speak. I have particular interest in consulting with churches and have expertise in providing conflict resolution and identifying quality church leadership.

I believe all people have potential to change and to better reflect the image of God in their lives and living. I believe in finding new solutions for old problems. New solutions are not magical. Therapy often requires hard work on the part of the client and the counselor. I first listen. Then I endeavor to work together with my clients to match one or more of the various approaches to change to the problems at hand. I am interested in serving adults, teens and families. I have particular interest in and experience with addressing grief, anger, addictions, employment, relationships, depression, bipolar disorder, and personality issues. I will work with families and larger groups/systems to identify systemic problems and to find solutions.

I have been married happily for over 26 years. I have two grown and healthy children. My life, though it has included trouble and difficulty, has been fulfilling and I have no regrets. I hope to help others experience fully the joy of living as God intended it. (more-vita)
